Carrot Centerpiece
This carrot centerpiece has been around for quite some time now. I saw it first on pinterest only it wasn’t a full vase of carrots it was just a handful at the bottom of the vase. I wondered how it would look if I were to fill the whole vase… you know kind of like they do with the lemons. So, that’s how I came up with this idea. It’s pretty simple to put together and I’m sure it’ll look super cute on any table. Play with some colors and have fun with it. I kept mine super minimalist and regret it a bit, wish I had more color. It would of looked more festive.
First off you’ll need a vase like shown in the photo below and a smaller vase to go inside. As you can see in the photos below I use a glass for the insert. (I got the big vase from pottery barn in boise)

I tried doing this while the vase was standing and it was a bit of a fail. This works best if you lay your vase to the side and display half the carrots.
Then stand your vase up right and while holding your glass in place keep inserting your carrots.
It would be best if your glass is perfectly center but, it’s ok if it’s not. You won’t really tell with the flowers in it. (If it’s bugging you you can always cut your carrots in half to even it out.)
Carrot Talk
Ok so I knew I needed a lot of carrots. When I went out to buy them organic with the stems I was looking at around $15 just for the carrots. That doesn’t seem like much but, considering I was doing a round up of 5 centerpieces money needed to be saved. That’s why the photos above are pictured without stems because, I used regular carrots and in the photo below I lined the edges of the vase with pretty organic carrots. If you’re trying to save money as well then you could use this trick. 😀
If you missed this last step simply squeeze in your pretty organic carrots around the edges. PS. The amount of carrots will really depend on the gap between your two vases. You might not need as many carrots as I needed. Also if you’re wondering, yes I did cut off the tops of some of my carrots to fit.
Making your Centerpiece look full
So I totally forgot about this step before doing the carrots but, to make your flower display look more full you can use some thin tape to make a grid on your inner vase. Unfortunately I eventually removed the tape because my vase was to small anyways and the flowers had a tight fit as it is. This would work great for a big vase and if you wanted your display to look fuller.
That’s it… How cute is that! It’s very simplistic but, definitely a statement piece.
Here’s the video tutorial.
Yes this table display could of used more color and I would of loved to see color in the flowers but, we’re talking budget again. I figured white flowers would match all five centerpieces I had to do . I hope the idea inspires you. 😀
How cute is this table display!! Big shout out to pottery barn Boise. They’re the best!! I got all these pretty things there.

I was hesitant at first because I could see paying for all the carrots but then I saw the second glass and I am sold. I love this simple yet colorful center piece. The orange pops.
LOL. Gosh I can’t imagine using that much carrots! Yes the insert vase definitely helps and I love the Orange as well. Perfect for spring. Glad you loved the idea 😀 😀
