Hi everyone,
today I’m sharing how I made these easy candle holder set using some pvc pipe and concrete.
What you’ll need
- round mold 2.5″ in diameter ( Here’s one I found on amazon )
- concrete ( I used cement all ) It sets pretty fast.
- level
- plastic pvc pipe ( 3/4 inch ) cut down to three lengths 5″, 7″ & 9″
- sand paper
- black spray paint
Before mixing the concrete I made sure my surface was level.
I mixed up some concrete powder with water. Only about 3/4 of a cup of concrete is enough.
I then added a spoon of concrete mixture into each mold and shook the mold a bit to allow the concrete to settle in.
I stuck the pvc pipe in and allowed it to set overnight. The next day I removed my candle holders and sanded them down before painting them. I had some 400 grit sand paper that I used. Don’t forget to sand the plastic pipe too before spray painting it that way the paint adheres.
Here’s what they looked like the next day before spray painting. ( click on any of these photos to pin it for later )
Here’s how they look all done!
Here’s a pin to add for later! You can click on the image to pin to your boards.
I kept the thickness of the cement about 1/4 of an inch. You can also paint them white or even do textured spray paint that’ll make them look like stone.
I love keeping them displayed off set and not lined up in a row. After trying to line them up in a row and I feel like I need way more then 5 so it looks nice enough.
I lay a bunch of pine cones and pine bushes behind the candles to style it on my entryway console. Honestly think I’ll be leaving these up almost all year long and not just for the holidays. If you’re wondering where I got that star that was a previous DIY.
I’m in love! Hope you enjoyed this super easy DIY candle holder set !
xx,
Lily
