What You'll Need

– Printable  (scroll down for my free printable) YES!! I went all out and hand sketched those mountains!! – White Paint  (any acrylic paint will work) – Brush  (thin detail brush) – Wood Stain  (need to be dark) – Napkins – Tape – Drill – Wood  (Here are the dimensions I used :  two pieces 5″ long, two pieces 8 1/4″ long, and one flat board at 5″x 9 3/4″ ) – Magnets (neodymium magnets : I purchased mine at Michaels Craft store) – White oil pastel (used from an old set I had) – E6000 Glue

Step 1

HERE’S THE FREE PRINTABLE

Step 2

To start off you’ll need to drill three holes on the bottom of one of your 8″ boards. These holes need to be big enough to fit your magnets. You could do as many as you want. I only did three magnets because these magnets are super strong.  Then start off by putting your wood pieces together. First built a frame out of the long boards and then attach your flat board to the top. I used nails to do this and pre-drilled my holes to make it easier.

Step 3

Following that take a napkin dip it into your wood stain and rub it onto your wood. Leave it on for about 5 minutes and remove as much as possible with a clean napkin. The dryer the better!

Step 4

I let my stain set for an additional 2 hours. Meanwhile I took my printable and evenly scribbled the back side with my oil pastel focusing on the printed areas.  Once my backside was ready I lay the printable face up and taped it to my flat board. I then traced my silhouette (printable). When you lift your printable it should look something like the photo

Step 5

Almost done!! Now take your paint,  water it down a bit, and fill in your silhouette. Focus on filling everything that was printed in black ink. It really helps if you have your printable to look at as reference.  Last but not least take your E6000 glue add a drop into each hole that you per-drilled and insert your magnets. That’s it!! Don’t forget to let your magnets set before using! 😀

This is what it looks like!! I’m loving this quote!! MAKES WE WANNA GET IN THE CAR AND GO CAMPING!! 😀 😀 😀 What do you guys think?
